October 16-The USF women146;s soccer team looked as though it was going to dominate tonight146;s non-conference match against Eastern Washington, but in the end the Dons struggled to convert shots and were outscored -1 at Negoesco Field on Wednesday. Senior forward Caty Harris got things off to a strong start for USF (7-4-1) when she connected off an assist from senior defender Mary Spiker in the third minute to take a 1-0 lead against EWU (4-8-0).lt;pgt; lt;Pgt;13; Harris volleyed a loose ball in the penalty area past Eagles146; goalie Katie Grothkopp to get the score and her third goal of the season.lt;pgt; lt;Pgt;13; The momentum would quickly shift, however, when in the 1th minute Eastern Washington forward Traci Jellison scored a breakaway goal from 1 yards out and into the high, right-side of the net, far from the reach of Dons146; goalie Stephanie Beall. Beall would have a total of six saves on the night.lt;pgt; lt;Pgt;13; For the rest of the game the two teams stayed fairly evenly matched making eleven shots each and taking three corner kicks a piece.lt;pgt; lt;Pgt;13; The match looked as though it was headed into overtime when Eastern Washington defender Kim McMullen took an opportunity from close range, unassisted, and placed the ball into the left side of the net as goalie Beall went right. The Dons tried to beat the clock but thereon out never could.lt;pgt; lt;Pgt;13; San Francisco heads back out on the road for two West Coast Conference matches this weekend.
