The Bulldogs posted a 1-1-0 record on the week, defeating Idaho, 3-1, before dropping a 2-1 decision to in-state rival Washington.
Sophomore MF/F Ashley Riley recorded a goal and an assist in the Zags' win over the Vandals. As a freshman last season, Riley scored four goals and four assists for 12 points. Her four assists tied her for seventh on the Gonzaga single-season assists list.
Sophomore MF Sheridan Jones and senior F Lauren Dascenzo added their first goals of the season in the Bulldogs' win over Idaho.
Freshman MF Katie Spangenberg gave Gonzaga a 1-0 lead at the 38:15 mark with her first career goal.
The Zags host Cal State Bakersfield (9/7) in their lone game this week. |

Loyola Marymount faced a challenging week, falling 4-0 at No. 4 Notre Dame before dropping a heartbreaking 1-0 decision versus No. 10 West Virginia.
Junior GK Allyssa Clark made the start against Notre Dame, logging 76 minutes and making six saves.
Clark was outstanding against West Virginia, tallying a career-high nine saves. She now ranks first in the WCC in saves with 20.
Junior D/MF Tiffany Harrison was named to the Inn at Saint Mary's Classic all-tournament team.

The Waves tied Arizona State, 1-1, before dropping a 3-2 decision to UC Santa Barbara.
Senior MF/F Emily Wynne scored the 10th goal of her career in the Waves' 1-1 tie with Arizona State.
Senior F Amanda Rupp scored her 10th career goal in Pepperdine's setback versus UC Santa Barbara. The goal was Rupp's first of the season.
Senior MF Ashley Copp scored her first goal of the season and assisted on Rupp's goal against the Gauchos. Copp leads the Waves and is tied for first in the WCC in assists with two.
The Waves host Iowa (9/5) and Northwestern (9/7) this weekend in the Pepperdine Nike Classic.

Portland posted a 1-1-0 record against two of the best teams in the country, falling to No. 3 UCLA, 1-0, before earning a 1-0 overtime win versus No. 1 USC.
Sophomore MF Sophie Schmidt, a member of the Canadian Olympic team, scored the game-winning goal in the 97th minute to lift the Pilots past USC. The two matches marked the first two games of the season for Schmidt.
The narrow loss to the Bruins snapped the Pilots' 17-match home unbeaten streak.
The Pilots out-shot the Bruins and the Women of Troy 25-18 on the weekend.

Saint Mary's posted a 1-1-0 record, defeating Saint Joseph's 2-1 in overtime, before falling to Cal State Fullerton, 2-0.
Senior MF Danielle Spann tallied the golden goal nearly five minutes into the first overtime period to lift the Gaels past Saint Joseph's. The goal was Spann's first of the season and fifth of her career.
Junior MF Ashley Nied added an unassisted goal versus SJU, her first of the season and second of her career.
Senior MF Stephanie Rocco is tied for the WCC lead with two goals, while sophomore MF Alex Ciliento ranks second in the league in shots with 12.

The Toreros picked up a split this past weekend, dropping a 1-0 decision to UC Santa Barbara on Friday, before registering their first win of the season, a 1-0 double-overtime win over UC Irvine on Sunday.
In the win over UC Irvine, senior striker Amy Epsten, USD's all-time career leader in goals scored, tallied her first goal of the season, finding the back of the net with a penalty kick in the second overtime period. Epsten's strike gives her 31 career goals.
Freshman GK Courtney Parsons, in her first collegiate start, picked up the win and the shutout versus UC Irvine, recording three saves in the process. Parsons is a member of the Toreros' highly touted freshman class that was ranked No. 20 in the nation by Soccerbuzz.com.

San Francisco earned a 1-1-0 record on its road trip through Colorado, defeating Northern Colorado, 1-0, before falling to Colorado, 4-1.
The win over UNC gave the Dons their first 2-0-0 start since the 2003 season.
Freshman F Kelli Woodard scored her first goal and game winner as a Don, lifting USF to the win over Northern Colorado.
Junior F Kristina Hall earned her first goal of the season in the loss to Colorado.
Two goalies combined for the shutout versus Northern Colorado. Senior Anika Steig recorded a save in the first half, while junior Kelly Pohle saved four in the second.

Santa Clara posted a 1-1-0 record against a pair of top 10 teams. The Broncos defeated then-No. 10 West Virginia, 2-1, in double overtime, before falling to No. 5 Notre Dame, 2-0.
Sophomore MF Kendra Perry scored both of the Broncos' goals in their win over then-No. 10 West Virginia, including the golden goal in the 101st minute of the match. The two goals were the first of Perry's career. For her effort, Perry earned her first career WCC Player of the Week honor.
Forwards Kiki Bosio and Lexi Orand, and Perry were named to the Inn at Saint Mary's Soccer Classic all-tournament team.
