SPOKANE, Wash. - Four Gonzaga University women's rowers earned All-West Region recognition on Friday as the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association announced their 2004 All-Region teams. Earning first-team All-West Region honors was Maria Bokulich while Kristi Aamodt, Kari Durgan and Karen O'Hagan were all named to the All-West Region Academic team. The Bulldogs finished the season with a 10th place finish in the Pacific-10 Conference Championships after winning their eighth straight West Coast Conference title at the start of May.

Bokulich finishes her career as the most decorated rower in Gonzaga history, earning her four-straight All-Region nomination. Bokulich was twice named to the All-West Region second team as a freshman and sophomore before earning first-team honors the last two seasons. The senior from Santa Cruz, Calif., was a three-time All-WCC selection and two time All-WIRA selection. Last season she earned All-America honors becoming the first Gonzaga women's rower to win that honor. This season she was named the Gonzaga senior women's athlete of the year.

Aamodt earned her second appearance on the CRCA Academic All-Region team while Durgan and O'Hagan are making their first appearances. A senior from Seattle, Wash., Aamodt holds a 3.89 GPA in public relations and was named the Gonzaga women's scholar-athlete of the year earlier this year. Durgan, a sophomore from Vancouver, Wash., has a 3.80 GPA in English while O'Hagan, a junior from Tucson, Ariz., has a 3.57 GPA in psychology.
