After waiting three hours due to rough water conditions at Lake Whatcom in Bellingham, Gonzaga was able to win six of seven races against Western Washington in the duel regatta on Saturday afternoon. In the women's half of the regatta Western Washington's varsity 8 pulled the upset of the day as they edged Gonzaga by two seconds.
