LMU finished nearly four seconds faster than second place Miami and eight seconds better than third place UCLA. The Bruins had defeated the Lions in a head-to-head competition a week ago. lt;pgt; lt;Pgt;13; Clemson finished fourth (7:.89), Navy in fifth (7:4.89) and Louisville in sixth (7:3.93). LMU reached the Grand Final by posting the fastest time of the Heat races on Saturday. The Lions finished in a time of 7:17.76 edging out San Diego in a photo finish for third. Gonzaga will return to action on Saturday, April 10, as the Bulldogs host Western Washington University in a home regatta at Silver Lake on the outskirts of Spokane. Gonzaga and Colgate slowly pulled away from the competition with the Bulldogs racing in lane one and Colgate in lane four.
