Women's Rowing Set To Compete in Pacific Coast Rowing Championships

 
 
 

 
Saint Mary's rowing will compete at the Pacific Coast Rowing Championships.

Moraga, CA- Saint Mary's rowing will compete at the Pacific Coast Rowing Championships at Lake Natoma in Sacramento, CA on Saturday, May 14. The Gaels will be competing in three events: the women's open four, women's novice-4 and women's varsity-8.

The women's open four event will take place on Saturday at 10 a.m. and will consist of boats from Stanford, Gonzaga, USC, California and Sacramento State. The Gaels varsity-4 line-up, which took the gold at the WIRA championships, includes: Lindsey Anderson, Dana Smith, Brittney Cunningham, Lindsay Juricich, and coxwain, Amy Bellman.

The next race that the Gaels compete in is the novice-4 event, which begins at 1 p.m. Saint Mary's will compete against boats from Portland State, Sonoma State, Sacramento State, Cal Lights A and Cal Lights B. The novice-4 line-up includes: stroke Arielle Elia, Lexi Billo, Eve Laokwansathitaya, bow Kate Shalvoy, and coxwain, Katie O'Brien.

The final event Saint Mary's will race in is the women's vasity-8 final held at 1:40 p.m. Competitors include: UC Davis, University of Oregon, Sacramento State Alumni, California and UC San Diego.

The Gaels will conclude its season on Sunday May 15, competing in the Pac-10 Championship also held at Lake Natoma.
