Gonzaga's men finished the 2,000 meter course in a time of 6:17.90 to finish behind Cal Cup winner Orange Coast College which covered the course in 5:59.54. Gonzaga finished ten seconds behind fourth place Western Washington and eight seconds ahead of UC San Diego. Gonzaga will get another chance against Western Washington next weekend when the two schools meet for a dual regatta at Silver Lake outside of Spokane.

Gonzaga's women finished the 2,000 meter course in a time of 6:59.23 to finish sixth in the Cal Cup Grand Final. Nationally ranked Duke won the Cal Cup with a time of 6:43.40. Gonzaga chased fifth place Minnesota down the stretch with the Golden Gophers finishing with a time of 6:54.32. Three of the six schools in the Cal Cup were either nationally ranked or listed in the others receiving votes in the latest Division I Rowing poll.

Gonzaga's men's varsity eight consisted of Nat Hopper, Mike Baisch, Justin Toenes, Mark Vorhees, Brad Hughes, Dave Johnson, Ben Foley, Jeff Kiely and coxswain Andrea Eberle.

Gonzaga's women's varsity eight consisted of Nickie Lustig, Alexis Skipitis, Bridget Troy, Maria Bokulich, Cynthia Savoca, Christine McKeown, Jennie Gilpin, Breah Niemiec and coxswain Courtney Haase.

Gonzaga will host its first spring race of the season on Saturday, April 13, when Gonzaga hosts Western Washington in a dual meet at Silver Lake outside of Spokane. Racing times and events will be released later this week.
