John Gant, the tennis professional at Spokane's North Park Racquet Club since 1996, has been named the men's tennis coach at Gonzaga University, athletic director Mike Roth announced. Gant, a native of Spokane and a graduate of Eastern Washington University with a B.A. in business administration, replaces Marcus Eyth who relocated to the East Coast. In addition to being the current tennis professional at North Park Racquet Club where he was also the Tennis Professional/Director from 1986-94, Gant brings a solid tennis background to his new duties. He coached at Spokane's Shadle Park High in Spokane from 1996-97. "John brings a strong tennis background at all levels to this position. He is well respected locally and throughout the Pacific Northwest, which will benefit the continued growth of Gonzaga's men's tennis program," Roth said.
