WINDSOR, CALIF. -- San Francisco broke tenth-ranked Pepperdine’s three-year hold on the WCC women’s golf title, taking the 2001 championship by nine strokes over the Waves. Both teams placed four golfers in the top ten, but USF took the top two spots and three of the top five to edge their rivals in the final total.

The Lady Dons finished the 54-hole event with a team score of 917 (310-304-303). USF junior Emilie Arnaud (Bordeaux, France) claimed the individual title by firing a six-over-par 222 (75-74-73), beating teammate Susie Laing by two strokes. Pepperdine’s Lindsey Wright, ranked #8 in the country, finished third with a final score of 230 (76-72-82).
