Saint Mary's freshman Brent Jensen finished fourth overall in the individual race, just two shots off the lead, with a three round total of 224 (+8). After posting back-to-back rounds of 76 to open the tournament, Jensen fired an even par 72 in the third round to keep pace. Jamie Kim, from Western Washington, took the individual title with a 222 (+6). The host of the Invitational, CSU Stanislaus won the overall team title, posting a 909 to finish 12 strokes ahead of Grand Canyon University.
In the Division I flight Saint Mary's posted a team total 947 to finish one stroke better than Weber State. Overall the Gaels finished 38 shots behind the Warriors for the overall team title.
Saint Mary's entered the final day of play in eighth place with two rounds of 315 to open the tournament on Monday. Jensen was tied for ninth place with a two round total of 152 when Monday's action came to a close.
The Gaels return to the links at the Ball State Invitational on April 7-8 to close out the 2000-01 regular season. Saint Mary's will complete the season at the WCC Championships at the Windsor Golf Course on April 16 and 17.
