For the 19th time in program history and second time in the last three years, Pepperdine has earned a berth in the NCAA Baseball Tournament. The No. 2 seeded Waves will take on No. 3 seed Fresno State on Friday at USC's Dedeaux Field beginning at 7 p.m.

Also in the regional, is host and No. 1 seed USC (39-17), which will play No. 4 seed Oral Roberts (48-11) at 3 p.m. on Friday. The double-elimination tournament continues on Saturday and Sunday.

The winner of the tournament will advance to the Super Regional on the weekend of June 1-3 and will face the winner of the Notre Dame regional (Notre Dame, UC Santa Barbara, Florida International and UW-Milwaukee). This year marks the second time in the last three years that Pepperdine has played at the Los Angles Regional. In 1999, the Waves traveled to USC as the No. 1 seed and lost to the second-seeded Trojans in the championship game. Pepperdine, which is ranked No. 11 by Baseball America and No. 13 by Collegiate Baseball, is currently 41-16 on the season and earned an NCAA Tournament berth by virtue of posting the West Coast Conference's best record (25-5) and defeating Gonzaga in the WCC Championship Series. Fresno State received an at-large berth after finishing the regular season with a 39-23 overall record and placing second in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) with a 22-14 mark.

USC won the Pacific-10 Conference title with an 18-6 conference mark, while Oral Roberts captured the Mid-Continent Conference with a 24-1 record. All-tournament passes may be purchased by calling the USC ticket office at (213) 740-GOSC. Passes are $50 for adults and $30 for children under 12. The passes will cover all six (or seven) games for the regional. Single-session tickets will be available only on the day of the game with the box office opening one and a half hours prior to the first game of the day. Parking on the USC campus will be $5 for each day.
