Pepperdine junior pitcher Dan Haren was named the WCC Player of the Year, while Waves teammate, junior Noah Lowry, was named the WCC Pitcher of the Year. It is the sixth time in the last ten years that the same school has garnered both awards. Gonzaga's Steve Hertz won Coach of the Year honors, while San Diego's Joey Prast was named the WCC freshman of the year.

Haren pitched a league-high 84 innings in conference play posting a 2.03 ERA against WCC foes. The junior hurler recorded 7 wins in league play and earned a 10-3 record overall. At the plate, Haren hit .313 for the year.

The other part of the Waves dynamic duo on the mound is Noah Lowry. Lowry posted a league-best 1.48 ERA in conference games, while also leading the WCC in opposing batting average (.197) and strikeouts (93). Most importantly, Lowry led the conference in league wins with nine in his 10 appearances on the mound in WCC play. Lowry currently ranks eighth nationally with an overall ERA of 1.62.

Gonzaga head coach Steve Hertz was named the WCC Coach of the Year after leading the Zags to their first-ever division title posting a 17-13 conference record. Hertz is in the midst of his 22nd season at the helm in Spokane and in his sixth year of WCC play has led the Bulldogs to the WCC Championship game against Pepperdine. It's the first time Gonzaga has won any of the WCC's four individual honors. This is actually Hertz's fifth overall Coach of the Year honor, receiving the award three times at Gonzaga before joining the WCC (1978,1981,1994) and once at UC Irvine (1980).

San Diego newcomer Joey Prast took home the WCC Freshman of the Year award. Prast joins teammate Greg Sain (1999), and former Toreros Tony Bettancourt (1996) and Mike Saipe (1992) as USD players earning WCC Freshman of the Year honors.
