Oct. 24 -- Allegra Porter of Saint Mary's and Devlin Croal of Santa Clara were named Cross Country Athletes of the Month for October.
Porter has been a bright spot for the Gaels this season, most recently placing first at the Mills Invitational with a time of 19:01.0. The sophomore has been the top runner for Saint Marys all year long, taking second overall at Santa Claras Bronco Invite (18:32.0) and the Sacramento Invite (18:50.0) and sixth at the Hawaii Invite (19:18.0). Porters time at the Bronco Invite is the fourth fastest in the WCC this season.
Croal has helped Santa Clara win its last two meets leading up to the WCC Championships this Saturday. He finished first at the Mills College Invite with a time of 29:32; and crossed the finish line at 27:34 two weeks ago at Santa Claras Bronco Invite. Croal, a sophomore, has consistenly placed among SCUs top five finishers in each contest this season.
