Santa Clara University's Mission Harries ran their best race of the year Saturday morning at the Bronco Invitational at the Crystal Springs Course in Belmont, Calif. The men's team finished first, while the women finished second at their only home event of the year. San Francisco took home fourth in both the men' s and women's race, while Saint Mary's finished fifth.

Head coach John Maloney and his squad marrowly edged out San Jose State by only four points to claim the first place finish. Thomas Chapman was the top finisher for the Broncos with a personal record on the course of 25:50, just three seconds behind Roberto Lopez from Fresno Pacific.

The women ran their best race of the year, finishing second behind San Jose State. Jenny Smokey was the top Bronco finisher in third place, followed closely by Robin Bell and Milena Basile who finished fifth and seventh, respectively. Ana Martinez from San Jose State won the race in a time of 17:55, which was 37 seconds faster than Allegra Porter from Saint Mary's who finished second.

On the men's side, San Francisco took home fourth place with 114 points, while Saint Mary's earned fifth overall (138 points). For the women, San Francisco again placed fourth (102) and Saint Mary's was behind with 106 points and a fifth place finish.

Top runners for San Francisco included T.K. Revane for the men in 15th (28:05) and Christa Heavens for the women in ninth (19:17). Travis Biziorek of Saint Mary's took 20th (28:49) for the Gaels' top men's place, while Strada Morris placed 17th (20:05), behind Porter, SMC's highest finisher.
