The Univeristy of Portland's men's cross country team "B" took first place against runners from Portland State, but fell slightly behind in their match up against Oregon at the "Civil War" Cross Country meet in Portland
The Univeristy of Portland's men's cross country team "B" took first place against runners from Portland State, but fell slightly behind in their match up against Oregon. The "B" team from Oregon swept the field and earned the top two individual finishes.
In the overall individual race for the Pilots, Steve Schaefer ran the 5820 meter course in 18:35, good for third place. His teammates, Chad Kilian and Andy Lafrenz came in at 19:14 (9th) and 19:22 (10th), respectively.
Also finishing the race were Scott Ruppel (19:55, 15th); Brian Murphy (20:17, 17th); Brandon Wedam (20:39, 18th); and Cyrus Severance (21:07, 20th).
