Sept. 14-The USD women's cross country team, competing in the Open Division of the Aztec Invitational, beat out eleven other teams in today's K run at Balboa Park. The Toreros placed three runners in the top-five and finished with a team total of 4, beating out runner-up Cal State San Marcos by 10 points.lt;pgt; lt;Pgt;13; Sophomore Tiffanie Marley, a transfer from the University of Texas, placed second individually with a time of 19:. It was her second straight nd place finish in two weeks. She was joined in the top-five by two other Toreros - freshman Jennifer Dowthit (Escondido, CA; San Pasqual HS), who placed 3rd with a time of 19:4; and junior Kim Croswell (Fallbrook, CA; Fallbrook HS), who finished 4th at 19:3.lt;pgt; lt;Pgt;13; Rounding out USD's runners were Fabienne Mueri (18th; 0:33), Cassandra Chavez (7th; 0:8), Vanessa Mantas (3nd; 1:1) and Erin Cortoya (37th; 1:31).
