The USD men's cross country team, behind sophomore Antonio Lopez, turned in a strong showing at this weekend's Stanford Invitational. Participating in the men's open division, USD placed 12th out of 24 teams with Stanford running away with the team title. Lopez finished third individually in the open race with a time of 25:26, averaging a 5:07 mile. He was followed by Brian Peterson (62nd; 27:34), Ryan Carr (75th; 27:44), Steve Trudelle (91st; 28:02), Rob Beamer (115th; 28:37), Issy Magneson (140th; 29:32) and Brennan Taylor (182nd).
