The USD men's cross country runners turned in a strong performance at Saturday's Riverside Cross Country Invitational, placing sixth out of twenty-one teams. The Toreros finished with 182 points, and finished behind Cal Coast (31), USC (98), Claremont (115), UC Riverside (140) and Pomona-Pitzer (164).
Sophomore Antonio Lopez once again turned in the team's best time finishing the 8K race in 25:28.50. The winning time was 24:46.10 by Cal Coast's Steve Frisone. Lopez was followed by teammates Brennan Taylor (20th; 26:24.20), Brian Peterson (51st; 27:12.30), Rob Beamer (69th; 27:41.50), Steve Trundelle (78th; 27:49.00), Ryan Carr (28:23.90), Charlie Cotton (131st; 29:15.10), Israel Magneson (144th; 29:33.70), and Chase Hancock (161st; 30:08.90).
The Toreros head to the Stanford Invitational next weekend, Sept. 30th (4:30 pm).
