Men's Head Coach Rodney Tention
 
When Rodney Tention arrived on the campus of Loyola Marymount University as the 23rd head coach of the men's basketball program in 2005, many things had not changed in the conference he once played in. As a familiar face to those in the West Coast Conference, Tention was well-known as one of the many reasons the WCC is among the top in Division I basketball. In his first season at the helm of the Lions he added to that reputation. All Tention did in his first season as an NCAA Division I head coach is lead the Lions to levels of success that have not been seen in 17 years. Tention took over the Lions and led them to a second place finish in the WCC and an appearance in the WCC Tournament Championship.

    • Women's Head Coach Julie Wilhoit
     
    Julie Wilhoit enters her 12th season as the head coach of the Loyola Marymount University women's basketball program. The West Coast Conference Coach of the Year three of the last seven seasons, she has steered the Lions to 107 wins in the last six years, including LMU's first ever WCC Championship, an appearance in the 2003-04 NCAA Tournament, and an appearance in the WNIT Tournament in 2000-01. The Lions have also been invited to play in the Preseason WNIT two times in the last five years. At home that record becomes even more astounding as Wilhoit's Lions are 65-25 in Gersten Pavilion over the last seven years.
