 Mark Few |
Few has become more at Gonzaga University.
And the Bulldog faithful - who have proclaimed themselves "Zag Nation" - are more than content with the combination of Head Coach Mark Few and more success in the national spotlight.
The best season in the 100-plus year history of Bulldog basketball saw Gonzaga roll to a 29-4 record, a second 14-0 West Coast Conference campaign in three seasons, a 10th WCC regular-season title, an eighth WCC Tournament crown and an eighth straight trip to the NCAA Tournament, the Bulldogs' ninth trip to the event since 1995.
With Few at the helm and national Player of the Year candidate Adam Morrison leading the nation in scoring, Few and the Bulldogs finished fifth in the final Associated Press Top 25, claimed a No. 3 seed into the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the Sweet 16 for the third time since Few took the reigns for the 200 season and the fourth time overall with Few a part of the coaching staff.
All of that came on the heels of a 2005 season in which Few guided the Bulldogs to 10th in the final Associated Press Top 25 poll and a third straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament second round.

 Kelly Graves |
It hasn't taken Kelly Graves (1-14-63) long to get Gonzaga University's women's basketball program back into the upper echelons of the West Coast Conference.
After guiding the Bulldogs to back-to-back second place WCC finishes in 2003 and 2004, the building of a program became complete in 2005 as Gonzaga capped off the best season in school history as Graves became the school's career leader in wins with 80 entering the 2005-06 season.
Gonzaga became only the second school in WCC history to run the table in league play as the Bulldogs finished the year 14-0 joining only the 1997 University of Portland Pilots as undefeated regular-season champions in the 18-year history of the league. Graves was also part of that run as an assistant coach at Portland. Along the way Gonzaga ran off a nation leading 23-game win streak and cracked both the Associated Press and ESPN/USA Today Top 25 polls reaching as high as No. 23.
Graves earned his second WCC Coach of the Year honor in the last three seasons and was named the WBCA Region VIII Coach of the Year as Gonzaga finished the season 28-4 and advanced to the second round of the Women's NIT, the second straight post-season appearance for Gonzaga under Graves.
