Golf - 5/9/2008 After Friday's second round of the NCAA Central Regional, the Pepperdine women's golf team stands in 15th place at the par-72 University of Texas Golf Club. Pepperdine is trying to make its ninth appearance at the NCAA Championships in 10 years, but only the top eight teams will advance. The Waves shot a 304 on Thursday and a 308 on Friday and now have a total of 612, which is 12 strokes out of eighth place. The third and final round is on Saturday. Golf - 5/9/2008 USF sophomore Danielle Cvitanov fired a one-over 73 in the second round of the 2008 NCAA West Regional Friday at the Lincoln Hills Golf Course and enters Saturday's final round at two-over 146 (73, 73). Cvitanov carded three birdies in round two and has seven overall in the tournament hosted by Sacramento State. With her one-over 73, Civtanov vaulted from a share of 25th on the individual leader board all the way to 13th heading into the final 18 on Saturday. 5/8/08 - Baseball San Diego's AJ Griffin Accepts Invitation To Team USA National Team Trials Sophomore All-American closer AJ Griffin of the University of San Diego baseball team is one of 12 players in the nation who has accepted an invitation for the 2008 National Team Trials to be held June 11-23 throughout the northeast and southeast United States. This marks the second consecutive season that the Toreros have sent someone to Team USA with both Brian Matusz and Josh Romanski playing this past summer.
5/9/08 - W Golf Pepperdine Women's Golf Begins NCAA Regional Play Tied For 13th Place The Pepperdine women's golf team is looking to make its ninth appearance at the NCAA Championships in 10 years, but the Waves will need to rally as they are in a tie for 13th place after Thursday's first round at the NCAA Central Regional.
5/7/08 - Baseball Five WCC baseball teams were in action on Wednesday, with Pepperdine and Saint Mary's posting victories. The Waves edged UC Santa Barbara, 5-4, while the Gaels knocked off San Francisco in a non-conference tilt, 6-5.
5/7/08 - M Tennis The No. 13 Pepperdine men's tennis team was selected to host the NCAA Regionals and will face Hawaii in the first round while the women's team will face UNLV in the first round at USC.
5/6/08 - Baseball Five WCC baseball teams hit the diamond in non-conference play on Tuesday. San Francisco upset No. 6 ranked Stanford at home, 13-9, while San Diego posted a 5-3 win at UCLA. Pepperdine fell at Cal State Fullerton, 9-1, while Portland dropped a 9-2 decision to Washington and Saint Mary's fell to San Jose State, 7-5.
5/6/08 - M Golf Pepperdine, Saint Mary's and San Diego Men's Golf Selected to Participate in NCAA West Regional Golf season isn't over for the three WCC teams selected to participate in the NCAA West Regional. Pepperdine, Saint Mary's, San Diego and Loyola Marymount's Jason D'Amore and Brian Locke will return to the Pacific Northwest a month after the WCC Championships to play at Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Washington.
