In an amazing show of heart, strength and determination, Andre Begemann helped lead the Pepperdine men's tennis team to a 4-2 victory over Stanford University, Saturday afternoon, in round two of the NCAA Division I Tennis Tournament. Begemann had received a phone call from his father in Germany last night, with the news that his mother had just passed away after a long battle with cancer. MORE

WCC Baseball Recaps
Seven WCC baseball teams took the field on Sunday, wrapping up a busy week of action. Pepperdine completed a sweep of Portland with an 8-5 win, while San Francisco took its season series versus San Diego with a 14-3 win over the Toreros. In other action, Santa Clara finished off a sweep of Bay Area rival Saint Mary's with a 14-6 win, while LMU dropped an 11-3 decision at Arizona State.

The No. 18 Pepperdine women's tennis team ended its season on Saturday with a 4-0 loss to No. 10 University of Southern California in the second round of the NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Tournament, at Mark's Stadium.

The Pepperdine women's golf team had its best performance of the NCAA Central Regional during Saturday's third and final round, but the Waves' season came to an end at the University of Texas Golf Club after a 12th-place finish.

Danielle Cvitanov Posts Top-25 Finish at NCAA West Regional at 221
USF sophomore Danielle Cvitanov shot a three round score of 221 (73, 73, 75) and finished in a share of 22nd place at the 2008 NCAA West Regional Saturday at the Lincoln Hills Golf Course. Cvitanov finished on a tear, recording back-to-back birdies and a par to complete her third round on the par-72 course playing at 6,338 yards.
